Safety - TrygghetsfolderMany efforts are being made in Trollhättan so that all citizens should be able to be safe. Safety is one of the priority public health that the health council is working on. Trollhättans city is a safe and secure municipality to settle, work and live in.

In this folder you will find information about what the municipality does and what you can do for your safety. You can read about Neighborhood Watch, population meetings in the different districts, safety rounds and coordination of safety walkers.

You may also get information on which numbers and in what occasions you should call the police.

You should feel safe and secure in your home and in around your neighborhood.

Do you want to reduce the risk of burglary in your home? Start the neighborhood watch for added comfort in your neighbourhood. The aim is to reduce the crime and increase the safety.

Neighborhood watch is based on that neighbors have a natural contact with each other and tightens vigilance in and around your accommodations. It reduces the conditions for crime and increases safety and happiness in your residential area.

Starting a neighborhood watch area is free of charge and the crime prevention helps to boot activities including the provision of signs and decals.

Population Meetings

To increase public participation and influence be organized population meetings around Trollhättan city. These meetings are organized by the crime prevention in Trollhättan city and aims to create dialogue with the residents in each area.

Everyone is welcome to discuss security issues with councilor, officers from Trollhättan city, the police and the rescue service.

Information about time and date of meetings is advertised in local newspapers and will be sent to schools. More information is available at Trollhättan city website, which notesfrom the meetings are posted on

Safety Rounds

Safety round is a method used in order to create a better local environment. The method is based on that it is you who live and are active in an area and that you have a great knowledge about your local environment. Local knowledge makes you know which places are experienced as safe and pleasant area to live in and which are experienced as less safe.

During the walk a dialogue takes place between the participants who comes with suggestions. Participants are those who live and work in the area, the police, the rescue services, officers from Trollhättan city and crime preventer.

TrygghetsvandrareSafety Walkers

When more people are out in motion in an area people feel safer. Are you interested in becoming a safety walker?

The public health council would like to support the safety walkers in Trollhättan and will therefore arrange education meeting in which the police, the crime prevention and the rescue services are involved. Those authorities tell you generally about what you as a safety walker need know.

You get to try to put out fires and teach yourself how to think at fire and in other troublesome situations.

You are also offered education in cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Safety tours takes place completely voluntary. You get to borrow a well visible jacket in order to be recognized outside.
