Trollhättan is the city of waterfalls and locks. It took many centuries to master the thundering falls of Göta River.

When the first section, The Trollhätte Canal, was opened at the dawn of the 19th century, it was considered the eight wonder of the world.

Taming the river brought hydropower to industry - many regard Trollhättan as the birthplace of modern Swedish industry.
